BREEDING FOR
HEALTH, FORM & FUNCTION, TEMPERAMENT, AND COMPANIONSHIP
At Battlefield, quality is our top priority. We are dedicated to preserving the look, temperament, and intelligence of the Australian Shepherd—just in a smaller package. Our Miniature American Shepherds are bred to closely resemble their full-sized counterparts, staying true to the original vision established by MASCUSA. We no longer breed Australian Shepherds.
We run a highly selective breeding program and produce only a limited number of litters each year. This allows us to focus on the health, structure, and temperament of every dog we raise.
Our commitment doesn't end when our puppies go home—we consider every new owner part of the Battlefield family. We love staying in touch and watching each pup grow and thrive, especially through our private Battlefield Facebook group.
We invite you to explore our dogs here on the website and join us on Facebook. If you have any questions about our breeding practices or available puppies, we’re always happy to connect.

AKC Breeder of Merit
We are an Australian Shepherd and Miniature American Shepherd Breeder in VA. We have not applied to be at a Bronze level, but will do so after 2025 given we fullfilled those requirements a while ago. We just need to send the packet into AKC. We show our own dogs and prove them before sending them out to other breeders for improvement in their kennels. We actively mentor new breeders in the breed and help others become better breeders. Click here to find out more about the program.
